Are you waking up?

Many people are waking up now. Its time. The global consciousness of humanity is changing, shifting to embody more light, more love, more presence, more community. And its desperately needed if we are going to survive and thrive in this world. This is humanity’s big shift out of old paradigms and into a whole new way of being.

Its called awakening because it feels like waking from sleep and realizing you were just in a dream, acting out a prescribed role, it wasn’t real, and now you are back to your deeper truth.

Waking up can happen on the psychological level, realizing you weren’t that present in your own life, and so are now choosing to live from your integrity, develop closer relationships with family and friends, work through long-standing blocks, and work in a more personally fulfilling job. Or the awakening can happen on a spiritual level, uncovering your deeper self, recognizing the broader picture of why you are here, and hearing a deeper life calling to you. Very often, doing a lot of psychological work on your emotional and mental selves frees you up to see the spiritual dimension. And opening to the spiritual dimension makes you aware of how much personal work needs to be done.

Many people have this awakening process happen gradually, small step by small step, adjusting bit by bit. It can also be quite quick, often in reaction to a major shock like the sudden death of a loved one, or having a profound spiritual experience like a near-death experience that gives you a peek into a different world. For some it is a joyful growing and unfolding process. But for others waking up to the spiritual dimension can be incredibly difficult, causing huge upheavals and breakdowns, wreaking havoc on relationships, careers, and sense of stability in life. It often takes years of adjustment, usually with both joy and challenge.

Experiences you may have when waking up are:
• Feeling lost, ungrounded, insecure, not knowing where to put your energy and attention, not understanding what is happening to you
• Feeling guided in life decisions, both large and small, whether from your own intuition or something larger calling to you
• Having a sense of what you need to be doing, but no idea how to get there
• Feeling compelled to make changes and leave old dynamics, no matter how difficult or painful
• Longstanding emotional baggage comes to the forefront and seems to take over your life
• Your outer life circumstances seem to blow up, or fall apart, often overnight
• Your life comes to a complete standstill, and you have a scary freedom to re-define yourself and re-make your life
• You feel an ever deepening experience of both joy and pain
• Feeling like you are part of something much bigger than yourself
• Periods of indescribable bliss and connection to the earth
• Questioning whether you want to be in this world anymore, and if so how
• Finding courage you never had before to step out into the world
• Finding yourself much more interested in what you have to offer the world, what the world needs, and your place in it
